Urban Protected Areas: Profiles and best practice guidelines was produced by InterEnvironment Institute for IUCN, the International Union for Conservation of Nature. It includes profiles of 15 such areas in a dozen countries, and 30 guidelines on topics ranging from engendering a local sense of ownership and controlling invasive species -- to reducing impacts of artificial nighttime light and making urban protected areas national and global conservation priorities.
