Working Group on Urban Protected Areas |

This working group was set up in July 2006 within the Task Force on Cities and Protected Areas of IUCN's World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA). It is cochaired by Pedro da Cunha e Menezes of Brazil and Brett Myrdal of South Africa. Its members are indicated by a "(u)" on the list of task force members.
The first objective of the working group is producing a volume on urban protected areas in WCPA's Best Practice Guidelines Series. Details will be posted on this page as the project moves forward.
