[Note: The California Institute of Public Affairs (CIPA) became InterEnvironment Institute in February 2010. CIPA continues as a program of IE. See the home page for details.] InterEnvironment Institute holds 160 acres (about 65 hectares) of land in a key location on California's Mojave Desert for purposes of conservation and historic preservation. This property, given by a donor who prefers to be anonymous, will eventually be transferred to a locally based nonprofit organization.
